Office Friendly has announced its fundraising total for 2019. The co-operative, made up of over 200 small businesses across the UK and based in Sheffield, raised £3816 by hosting fundraising activities and events throughout the year as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.

Office Friendly Managing Director Julie Hawley was joined on Wednesday 5 February by Michelle Dickinson and Shannon Roberts of South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) to hand over their donation to the foundation.

The annual donation to SYCF is the group’s third since beginning its CSR initiative, Office Friendly Community Fund, in 2018. The money raised will be distributed in the form of grant funds to a number of community and voluntary projects and organisations across the South Yorkshire region. Over the coming months, Office Friendly will work with SYCF to allocate the donation to its chosen recipients.

Over the past couple of years, Office Friendly has worked with a number of charities across Sheffield and Rotherham. Grants awarded by SYCF and community outreach by the Office Friendly team has helped support a range of different initiatives, including funding new print materials and training for the front-line staff of Rotherham-based youth charity, Rush House.

Similarly, the group has worked closely with BME youth football club, Aden Steelers, to help the club cover the cost of training volunteer coaches and to buy new equipment. Aden Steelers is a community-based football club in South Sheffield ran completely by volunteers. The Club provides a safe and fun environment for BME children up to 16 years of age to play football at a grassroots level in the Sheffield Junior League.

Office Friendly has a long history of giving back to the local community, having raised over £5000 for Sheffield Mind and taking part in the annual trekking event, Climb of Life, in support of the Institute of Cancer Research.

The group has set a new target of £5000 for its 2020 fundraising activities. For more information on how to support the Office Friendly Community Fund, visit
