Setting their 2018 strategy in motion, Office Friendly have partnered with the South Yorkshire Community Foundation to develop a Corporate Social Responsibility programme on behalf of the membership.

Initially, the programme will be led by the Office Friendly team with individuals coming forward to raise money and volunteer for local causes. The launch coincided with a donation to Mind, a charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. £500 of this money went to local causes. This year, with a full calendar of CSR activity, Office Friendly aims to donate ten times that amount.

Julie Hawley, Managing Director, explains how leading the way with CSR is something the team have aspired to for a long time.

“Now, with our new strategic direction, as Business Development Specialists, the time seems right to take the initiative. It runs parallel to what the Office Friendly brand is all about: giving back, supporting communities, and developing partnerships. Moreover, it makes good business sense too – not just for us, but for the wider membership. After all – we’re all friendly dealers, aren’t we.”

Sonia Bielaszewska from SYCF said: “We are thrilled that Office Friendly have decided to utilize South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) as their giving vehicle. The Office Friendly Community Fund will make a positive difference to many lives across South Yorkshire and we’re excited to work with the Office Friendly team to ensure that the fund is impactful.

“We are also pleased to welcome Office Friendly as one of the newest members of our corporate membership scheme called the SY100. The scheme supports the vital work of SYCF Foundation to deliver funding to grassroots initiatives.

“SYCF is always looking for new businesses to work with and new ways to support our local communities. This new partnership shows that Office Friendly shares our passion for improving local lives and we are excited to get started.”

Office Friendly members can expect to see a calendar of vibrant fundraising events covering everything from bake days and charity raffles to endurance tests and local volunteering. The programme will focus on struggling young adults, providing the support people need to develop rewarding and meaningful lifestyles. Businesses can also participate in the existing So-Go-Eco scheme, Office Friendly’s unique, low-cost environmental accreditation.

“This programme isn’t just for us,” adds Julie. “We’re encouraging member to get involved with their own activities and ideas and share their personal CSR experiences, too. Together, we have a huge reach and can drive real social change in all our local communities.”
